Individual therapy/counseling services:

What we do:
We provide individual therapy to Native Hawaiian students enrolled at UH Mānoa, for the purpose of supporting you through navigating life challenges, such as:
- Balancing university and personal life
- Life transitions (e.g., moving away from home, breakups, planning for life after college)
- Identity development/exploration
- Managing overwhelming responsibilities and expectations
- Stress management
- Institutional racism
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Sleep difficulties
What we don’t do:
While there are always exceptions, in general, we will connect you to other providers or services for the following:
- Severe mental illness (e.g., schizophrenia)
- Substance use disorders
- Eating disorders
- Couples counseling
- Medication management

Because we cannot guarantee that we will be available when a crisis comes up, our therapists at Ka Malu a Wa’ahila do not provide crisis or emergency services.
